ZARA HOME

Other trendy retailers offer home accents and furniture as well as apparel merchandise. Anthropology and Urban Outfitters being two of the most popular fashion retailers with home accessory lines would be Zara's competition for Zara Home. Zara's merchandise follows the top current trends and they are able to provide those to customers very quickly. Zara Home would allow the younger crowd to decorate their loft in affordable, trendy, and fast available decor. This brand extension would have seasons just like the apparel and they will start out with limited merchandise such as comforters, throws, pillows, candles & lamps, and bathroom basics. Here are a few images of the merchanide Zara Home would produce.

SPRING & FALL 2011 COLLECTIONS

Zara's Spring 2011 collection focused on clean lines, bold colors, and a modern '70s appeal that were highlighted in the way of long-sleeved shift dresses, wide-leg trousers, and A-line skirts.

For Fall 2011 it is all about the pea coat, sequins, boyfriend blazers, and knee length dresses. Continuing the trend from spring 2011 they are using bold colors, shapes, and color blocking. You will be seeing a lot of thick/chunky cotton-wool sweaters & jackets this fall paired with animal printed pants and tops.

Climbing the way to the top!

Zara has climbed four places to 44th position in the ranking of the most valuable global brands released by brand consultancy Interbrand. According to the 2011 ranking the Zara brand is valued at USD 8,065 million (EUR 6,056.5 million), 8% higher than the previous year!! That is huge and a big step forward!! Zara first joined the annual list in 2005 when it was ranked at number 77. Even though 77 was not bad to begin with 44 is an even better spot to be at now! Zara will be in the top 10 in a matter of time!
They haven't had any experience in legal or financial issues recently. They are a great company and this article describes their success and future in the fashion industry!

Future Plans for Zara

Zara is the meaning of "instant fashion". Instead of creating demand for new trends and using fashion shows- Zara uses another method. They study the demands of the actual customers in their stores and then delivers that design at very high speeds. They saves tons of money on their delivery methods(you can find in the article link). I would say they are very much ahead of the fashion market in terms of production and sales.Zara is the #1 most profitable out of 8 other companies in the Inditex Group. Their production cycles are much faster than H&M! In 1 year Zara launches 11,000 new items compared to 2,000-4,000 from H&M!

This all sounds like Zara is doing just fine, right? Yes, that is right but they want to do even better! Over the next 4 years the brand plans to double in size opening over 4,000 new shops! They plan this expansion to mostly start out in Europe before pushing anywhere else. They have already opened a new distribution center to get the ball rolling with expansion plans!

I believe this will be a great successful for Zara and they are profitable enough now I think they should grow. That is 1,000 stores every year for 4 years. That is an extreme goal and even if they make half of it, they will still be successful. You can view much more information from this article, just click on the link below.

Organic Cotton Collection for ZARA

Thousands of people probably wonder each day why pay more for an organic cotton shirt vs your standard cotton shirt? Did you know non-organic cotton is considered to be on of the dirtiest crops in the world?! Kind of gross, huh? To produce one cotton shirt would take 150 ml of leathal pesticides. This is serious stuff you are wearing. It is so deadly one drop could kill you. You wouldn't drink it, so why wear it, right? Organic cotton is obviously made without these pesticides making it safer for those who pick the cotton.

So what does all this have to do with Zara? Well they have launched their Organic Cotton collection and it includes some of the tees for men and women you can find instores now. They hope to move to 100% organic across their entire clothing collection in the near future. What a great goal!

Here is a video that they launced their collection with!
